The team (E)co ETSAV-UPC consists of students, in collaboration with research groups both on the same campus, as with other internal and external powers to the UPC, private companies, public administration bodies and other agencies.

This project draws on the experience gained in the previous contest Solar Decathlon Europe 2010, where LOW3 project submitted by the same team that now makes up the group (E)co, won 1st PRIZE OF ARCHITECTURE.

To ROCKWOOL Peninsular S.A.U., participation in the Solar Decathlon Europe 2012 represents a unique opportunity to test new products and systems to create sustainable building technologies.

Furthermore, technological exchange with the team ETSAV-UPC creates new ways of thinking innovative solutions in the construction sector: energy efficient, recyclable and maximum comfort to users.

The Solar Decathlon is an international competition that is driven by the US Department of Energy and is organized by the Polytechnic University of Madrid (UPM) for the Ministry of Housing in Spain.
